Rape Trauma Syndrome Rape Trauma Syndrome (RTS) is a form of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that often affects rape survivors. Not all rape survivors will experience Rape Trauma Syndrome (RTS). Different women respond to the trauma of rape in different ways. Some women will experience severe Rape Trauma Syndrome (RTS), while others have few symptoms or none at all.
