The basic terminology of relay.

Solid State Relays [SSR] are bounce free, switch faster than mechanical relays, and have no moving parts. In most cases an opto-isolator is used to control a FET which would control the switching current. ElectroMechanical Relay [EMR] is an electromagnetically-operated switch.
