Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai has called for an April election, a move that is backed by the country’s constitution but discouraged by Afghanistan’s electoral commission. The electoral commission has called for elections by August 20 but that would be three months after Karzai’s term is scheduled to end. According to the country’s constitution elections are to be held 30 to 60 days before a presidential term ends which would make Karzai’s call for an April election within that time frame… More information...
