Transport models that take into account non-equilibrium partonic dynamics of relativistic heavy ion collisions are useful tools for relating the properties of the produced partonic matter to the experimental observables. In this talk, we review results obtained from some of the transport models, particularly the multiphase AMPT transport model, regarding the partonic effects on observables from relativistic heavy ion collisions.
